15 Central Okanagan SAR members responded to locate an Alzheimer's patient in the Kelowna area. The subject had been waiting for his wife in the car when he walked away. Subject was located alive and well.

2013-03-20 Joint Exercise with 442

Thirteen COSAR members took part in a Search and Rescue exercise with 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron from 19 Wing Comox, B.C in Kelowna on March 20'th 2013
Three were working on the Air side in their CASARA role, one volunteered to be a casualty, one was in training with Justice Institute as a BC Paramedic, eight on the ground SAR side, with four initial responders, one in communications, two in command, and one observer.

2013-03-10 Invistigation of Distress Signal Philpott Road

9 COSAR members responded to investigate "help help" written in a snowbank off paved area on Philpott Road. Invistigastion resulted in the suspission that the message was written perhaps by a person or group of people that had become stuck in their vehicle, as noted by the debris, and the deep ruts in the snow.  The circumstance was checked out, and two sets of snow shoe tracks leaving the location were followed through to their conclusion to confirm no one was still in distress. There were no missing person reports that could be associated either.
