Busy Summer Weekend for COSAR
This weekend was a busy one for COSAR.
Over the weekend COSAR spent three days looking for a missing subject that had entered Okanagan Lake off a boat and was unable to get back on. COSAR searched with our SONAR and an unwater camera, kayaks and a helicopter but was unable to locate the subject.
COSAR’s assistance has been paused by the RCMP as they have brought in their Underwater Recovery Team.
RCMP again called on COSAR Sunday night to assist in locating an elderly missing female with dementia.
COSAR responded with 12 members and searched a wide area with ground teams, e-bikes and vehicles.
Around 3 a.m. RCMP informed COSAR that the subject was found and had been returned home in good health.
