COSAR’s dog team joined Kaslo’s K-9 unit, as well as ground teams from Shuswap and Vernon, in searching the area around Kalamalka Park for missing Coldstream resident Robert Bains.

The 83-year-old was last seen on Jan. 2 and searchers have spent the last four days scouring the park and nearby residential areas. 

Dog teams are essential resource during extended search and rescue operations as they cover a greater area and allow ground teams to focus on other objectives.

“We appreciate this community support in giving our dogs  space to work in the park on a busy weekend,” said COSAR K9 handler Terry Downs.
