Two Tasks on Sunday

COSAR had two callouts Sunday:

The first came in early in the morning. A member of a group of university students hiking and camping in the back country suffered an ankle injury. Unable to walk out and far from vehicle access, COSAR was called in. A textbook rescue by the boat team quickly brought the injured party to safety. The hikers did an excellent job addressing and treating the injury and staying together until help arrived.

Later Sunday COSAR was tasked with rescuing three hikers on Terrace Mountain. The group had been trying to reach Christie Falls, but missed the turnoff and tried to hike in. A young member of the group injured her ankle and called for help. COSAR provided the group with warm clothes and then transported the injured subject out.

On a related note, if helping people in distress is something you’re interested in, COSAR is accepting applications until September 30. Please find the information on our website at cosar.ca
