COSAR Assists RCMP: Accident on Glenmore Road

Late Wednesday night, Lake Country RCMP called Central Okanagan Search and Rescue to help locate a male that had walked away from a traffic accident.

The male was driving north on Glenmore Road when he lost control and ended up flipping the vehicle into an orchard.

He managed to extract himself but could not be located by Lake Country Fire Department nor the RCMP at the scene.

After a search of the immediate area by police and fire crews, COSAR was called out just before midnight to assist in locating the male, as it was believed he may have suffered a serious injury.

Eleven COSAR members, including the dog team, attended the area and searched the surrounding orchards and fields. The dog team was able to follow the male’s tracks as he headed towards his residence. He was eventually located there.

This was COSAR’s 98th call out of the year.
