Tuesday night COSAR was called out to assist the Kelowna RCMP in searching and locating a 97 year old male with dementia who had walked away from his home in the Gyro beach area.  

He was last seen at 2pm. When he did not show up for dinner, his residence was searched, RCMP were notified, and they called COSAR to assist in the search.  

COSAR responded with 18 members, including the E-bike teams, ground searchers, and search dogs.  

After about an hour of searching the area, the male was located outside the search area at a local gas station where he was reunited with family.  

This was COSAR’s 21st call out of the year.
